Dark Lunacy is an interesting band born in 1997 with a proposal for a melodic death metal a bit innovative. It's important to note that the basis of the band is a melodic death style very strong, very similar to Dark Tranquillity , but certainly more speed with strong influences of gothic rhythms.
Taking into account this comparison I will start with something very characteristic of the band, as opposed to dark tranquility which are based on keyboard melodies with electronic sounds, the schemes are based on sounds of orchestras, especially in the more symphonic album "The Diarist" very strong not as fast, with more participation of the guitar. Beginning already with the album "Devoid" is the world's best single from the band, but I think that carries deeper lyrically.
And going with my favorite, "Forget Me Not" is the best joint, the first feature is that the album seems to be made in chapters, the songs are arranged in an exact order to travel the album, the second is the world's best fast guitars are not front and center, I love the EQ and the forcefulness of low Lavoz besides that fits best with the music. But of course that's my point of view and the truth three are a genius.
Despite major changes in alignment in the band, we find that the style has not had many changes, if it has evolved, but always maintaining a constant essence the three albums. Adding features we have "Devoid" as simple and profound, to "Forget Me Not" as the fastest and most emotional, and The Diarist developed, narrative, and I would say reflective. We will have to see what brings the next "Weaver Of Forgotten", hopefully high quality and creativity.
