On average modern DVD recorder can burn (burn) a permanent DVD in 6 minutes depending on the amount of information you want to add it. To achieve this speed devices use a rapid access to memory (DMA) that allow you to bypass the processor cycles through various techniques. The other alternative but to have such devices is to use a process input output processor (IOP) but that causes the same DVD recording is achieved in about 50 minutes. It is therefore important to always use DMA for such devices.
But it turns out that Windows XP sometimes happens that DMA is disabled on our recorder and forces us to use PIO. Some claim that this happens for any DVD or CD scratched or defective, or perhaps because of some flaw in the synchronization of the devices. When this happens and we return to the DMA Mode option in the device manager only gives the option PIO and simply blocks all possibility of change.

The solution to this problem we will explain below: 1 .-
IDE identifies that the recorder is connected with this problem, namely whether it is connected as slave on the primary IDE, master or slave the secondary IDE.
2 .- Then go to the START button, then My Computer, View system information, hardware and device management. 3 .- There
you fit in IDE ATA / ATAPI IDE place the recorder where is the problem, right-clicking with the mouse and choose Uninstall.
